Putting on estate sales is a form of continuing education. We like to think we "know it all" (think that might be a nickname my friends call me when I talk too much.) And then you start a new house. You are walking through with the owner and they point out this and that and you think, seen that, know those, been there. Then they say, "And we have several pieces of Henkel-Harris." Hmmm ... don't think I know that one. Thus begins the education. Henkel-Harris is one of America's premiere furniture makers. They produced hand-crafted heirloom quality furniture for more than 70 years and their pieces are sought out by people who love fine furniture. The finest wood, hardware and design make for some beautiful pieces. It has been an education and a pleasure to learn about the company and research these works of functional art. We have a set of 8 mahogany dining chairs, several bedroom pieces, a black walnut secretary, mahogany breakfront, tilt table, and more pieces. Think you will be as impressed as we were. This great home is also full of antique and vintage Chinese Porcelains (we asked David Lackey, Antiques Roadshow Appraiser, to take a look at some of these and he verified the authenticity), couches, linens, art, a wide selection of silver plate pieces, lamps, clothing, shoes, hats, kitchen items, electronics, patio furniture, sheet music, guns and ammo, books, a guitar and oh yes, a 6' 1" 1989 Yamaha G3 Grand Piano. There is lots more too. Come wander around this lovely home and maybe continue your own education.
